Still Waters was composed in 2011, later published in 2020, while I was living in Seattle, Washington. The Sundog Percussion Trio premiered the piece in April of 2012 at the North Dakota Museum of Art in Grand Forks, North Dakota. This premiere performance also featured the inclusion of a vibraphone soloist, Professor Mike Blake, to whom Still Waters is dedicated. Like that premiere performance, the piece has the option of being performed as a quartet with a vibraphone feature and an optional added rhythmic instrument such as a cajon. The work requires two 5.0 octave marimbas and a vibraphone.
